ANIMAL REIKI CERTIFICATION
Reiki for Animals
Reiki is a Japanese technique for relaxation and the reduction of stress, which also promotes healing. Reiki is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that a universal life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. The Reiki practitioner channels this healing energy and causes it to flow into others through the laying on of hands.
Physical contact is not necessary during process of “laying on of hands,” so Reiki healing is possible even for humans or animals who prefer not to be touched. In fact, you do not even need to be in the room with us to receive Reiki. By setting an intention to help you or your pet, it is easy for a Reiki practitioner to send healing energy remotely, no matter how far away you are. The energy is specifically drawn to the areas which need it most, causing physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing to occur. This universal healing energy is inexhaustible and is always abundant.
Everything is made of energy, including humans and animals. If one’s life force energy is low, or if we are not in a mental or physical place where it is easy to attract this healing energy to ourselves, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress. If we are in a place that allows us to attract universal life force energy in abundance, then we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Sometimes we need help directing this healing energy to ourselves, or allowing it flow freely. This is true of all living creatures. In fact, we find animals to be particularly receptive to Reiki healing. By balancing the animal's mental, physical and emotional well being, we see improvements in areas such as stress and anxiety reduction, pain relief, and overall quality of life. Energy healing can also be used to compliment or support other healing modalities, but should not be used as a substitute for veterinary care.
We practice the Usui system of Natural Healing, or Usui Shiki Ryoho. Usui Reiki was developed in 1922 by Mikao Usui. Usui was raised as a samurai and trained in the martial arts technique of aiki. Over the course of his life, Usui traveled the world and studied medicine, psychology, history, Christianity, Taoism and Buddhism. During Isyu-Gyo, a 21 day Buddhist discipline of prayer and fasting on Mount Kurama, Usui recieved the spiritual ability to channel healing energy through the crown chakra. He called this energy Reiki, and over his lifetime, Mikao Usui attuned over 2000 people to administer this method of healing.
